Cdnauto.org performed gas pumps accuracy test using
3 random gas stations in the GTA area. These samples were collected
randomly on the same day.
Pricing was $1.20 at each gas station. To ensure
that all samples were dispensed equally all tests collected were
pre-paid (yes, we got few weird looks when we asked for a preset
on a given pump for amount of $1.20)
As gas is one of the products you can't physically
see when purchasing (except for occasional drop here and there),
we wanted to see what we actually received. We wanted to know if
gas pumps were either dispensing less or more of the product (or
exact amounts).
Calibration test was also performed on our measuring equipment
(not shown in video), 1 litre of water was poured to each container
to ensure measuring accuracy.
Original, higher resolution image of the results can be downloaded
here.
This was an independent test and we are not affiliated with any
of the companies mentioned in the video.
Gas is extremely flammable and we strongly advise that you
do not try this at home.
